Philanthropy

From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.

About our Philanthropy

Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has maintained its commitment to supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). These charities are comprised of local chapters that offer services such as Ronald McDonald House®, Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, and Ronald McDonald Family Room® programs to families with seriously ill or injured children. These services provide a comfortable and temporary residence close to medical facilities in over 375 Ronald McDonald Houses across 62 countries.

Alpha Delta Pi collegiate chapters and alumnae associations not only donate funds to this worthy cause, but they also volunteer their time and energy to support these Houses. For further information on Ronald McDonald House Charities, please visit their website at www.rmhc.org.

Our Involvement

Alpha Delta Pi is an organization promoting service, sisterhood, scholarship, and social relationships for collegiate women since 1851. In 1979, our international organization partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), forming a lifelong bond in which we have donated over 12 million dollars and thousands of hours supporting the various aspects of this organization. RMHC is a cause that is close to our hearts; it supports families and children when they are going through tough times and getting treatment at hospitals that can better treat their severe illnesses.

Our Favorite Events

Diamond Banquet – Winter

Diamond Banquet consists of a live and silent auction as well as a dinner for our ADPI members and their families and friends. All proceeds of this event will benefit the Bay Area Ronald McDonald House Charities. This event is special as we get to share our philanthropy with our loved ones and include them in raising money for a cause that we love to support!

Battle of Bellomy – Spring

Battle of Bellomy is a capture the flag tournament involving students at Santa Clara University in the spring. Members of ADPI register with other sisters and friends outside of the sorority to create teams. They then compete in a large capture the flag tournament where they can get t-shirts and raise money to benefit the Bay Area Ronald McDonald House Charities, and of course, win bragging rights.

Member Testimony:

As Vice President of Philanthropy, Diamond Banquet is a night that is close to my heart. It’s such a special night where our sisters get to hear firsthand stories of our impact, our friends and family get the opportunity to learn about this cause that is so close to our hearts, and RMHC gets to witness our passion for their mission. There’s nothing quite like seeing your friends and family rally to support a cause important to you and it’s one of the nights I look forward to most each year.
