Santa Clara Panhellenic
As members of the fraternity/sorority community, Alpha Delta Pi is proud to welcome those who want to enhance their college experience as part of something bigger. We select and maintain membership on the basis of scholarship, leadership, commitment, and service to the work of the sorority, the university, and the community. Alpha Delta Pi actively encourages a membership which represents a diverse population and does not discriminate in membership selection procedures. Come home to Alpha Delta Pi and find women who are true and loyal, just like our blue and white colors represent. ADPi sisters are leaders and visionaries. We are SGA senators, artists, student athletes, and scholars. We are committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards, and social responsibility. We committed to those when we established the first secret society for collegiate women in 1851 at the first university chartered to grant degrees to women. We are committed to them still today.

One of my favorite parts about being VPR is getting to see girls find their home at Santa Clara. Each chapter on our campus has a different sisterhood, and Formal Recruitment is a great way to find which chapter is best for you. Recruitment holds such a special place in my heart because I get to help girls find their best friends, future roommates, and their sisters for life. The best piece of advice I could give to a potential new member is to be yourself – I know it’s cheesy, but it’s true! The best way to find where you will truly feel at home is by connecting with members as your truest, most authentic self.

Continuous Open Bidding (COB) is the opportunity for a potential new member to get to know Alpha Delta Pi outside of formal recruitment. Occurring on a quarterly basis, COB introduces women to our chapter through sisterhood events, one-on-one coffee dates, and more. The process is well-accommodating to those who are interested in joining a sorority, but are daunted by the demands and dress codes of formal recruitment weekend. COB provides a relaxed and flexible environment for you to get to know our sisters, and potential new home!
“For me, COB was a crucial moment when I decided to go ADPi because of the chill and welcoming environment. I know recruitment can be a stressful time and can get overwhelming so as Open Recruitment Specialist it’s important for me to plan COB events where potential new members can feel at ease and get to talk to all of our sister while painting, drinking hot cocoa, making friendship bracelets, etc.”
